Where is The Chakra Shack located?

The Chakra Shack is located in Merlin(Ouvry) Ontario, just 15 minutes from Blenheim and an hour from Windsor. It’s nestled on 4 wooded acres with a raised cliff view of Lake Erie steps away.

Is there a washroom?

Yes, there is an outhouse near the cabin. However, there is no running water during the off season or shower unit on the property.

How many guests does the bunkie sleep?

The space is ideal for 2 adults but can accommodate up to 4 guests under special arrangements. The loft features a cozy queen bed, and the double futon downstairs can sleep 1 additional person comfortably.

Is the space pet friendly?

Sadly, the Bunkie is not pet-friendly at this time. It remains hypoallergenic for all guests.

However, my dog Sullivan may give you a bark or two through the fence! He says “Hello” :)

Is there Electricity (A/C & Heat) inside the bunkie?

The Bunkie has limited electricity, but includes an electric fireplace heater on the lower level

There is no air conditioning.

For lighting after sunset, flashlights & lamps are recommended!

Is there beach access from the property?

While there is no direct beach access, the cabin offers a raised overview of Lake Erie.

Where did I get my Bunkie?

After deciding to share my 5-acre property with others, I began researching options for a small, cozy cabin to create a unique retreat. I explored several kits, but after watching Dragons’ Den and learning about Bunkie Life, I felt drawn to their offerings. I reached out for more information, and the owner, David, personally called me to discuss the options. This level of care and attention made a lasting impression on me. I was also inspired by the stories of others in Canada and the U.S. running successful Airbnb bunkies.

Bunkie Life specializes in high-quality, easy-to-assemble kits made from kiln-dried Northern Spruce, offering charming and practical designs that are perfect for personal retreats or Airbnb rentals. Their kits are designed to withstand Canadian weather, with features like snow-load-rated roofs and energy-efficient double-pane windows.

In the summer of 2023, I built my Haven Bunkie cabin, & Barrel Sauna, carefully planning the space to create a comfortable, nature-focused retreat. By September 2023, I was ready to welcome guests, and the bunkie has since become a cherished part of my property. It’s a cozy escape that combines intentional design with the tranquility of rural living, perfect for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway.
